What are the medications for vaginal mycosis? And for how long should they be taken? (I already went to a gynecologist)

Nystatin is the common treatment for vaginal mycosis, but the treatment must be given also to the (sexual) partner otherwise the infection can relapse after intercourse. The medication is taken until mycosis is healed which is revealed by a lab test.

vaginal mycosis(yeast vaginal infections)(vaginal candidiasis) ia yeast infection can be treated orally or vaginally, depending on the severity and recurrence the treatment is given.
it is commonly treated with antimycotics; these antifungal drugs include topical clotrimazole, topical nystatin, fluconazole, and topical ketoconazole.many are found over the counter
there are several ways of treatments:
-topical treatment:Vaginal cream is inserted in and around the vagina using a suppository. A suppository consists of an applicator that allows you to insert the medicine inside the vagina. The medicines control the production of yeast, to get it back in check so it can stop producing symptoms. Vaginal cream may also relieve itching at the site if the infection.
- Local treatment may include vaginal suppositories or medicated douches some as a single dose treatment(flucanazole single dose suppository)
-oral anti fungal drugs if you prefer oral drugs or you are a virgin ,fluconazole is the first dug of choice
Yeast infection treatments can take anywhere from 3 to 14 days to clear up the problem, depending on the severity of the yeast infection and the type of treatment. While symptoms may disappear early, it is important to continue the entire prescribed course of treatment to avoid a relapse of the yeast infection, if the yeast begins to grow again once treatment is discontinued.
Prevention
Wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing that does not trap moisture. Avoid using scented products around the vagina and vaginal area that may interfere with the vagina's ability to cleanse itself naturally. Keep your vaginal area clean and dry and avoid remaining in wet bathing suits or underwear for longer than necessary.Refrain from taking antibiotics unless prescribed by a doctor.
you should seek medical advice and not try to treat yourself if:
-you are diabetic
- Pregnant
-Women with weakened immune systems
-Women who suffer from four or more vaginal yeast infections a year.
