Sometimes when I spit, the color is reddish. I try to spit several times & little blood is present in all of them. Is that normal? This happens in the mornings when I wake up before brushing my teeth.

Seeing blood in the saliva may be alarming to many people, but it may or may not be associated with a serious condition. One may be spitting blood, coughing out blood or even vomiting blood, and the causes of these are varied. Blood in the saliva may be coming from starting from mouth and gum problems ,nasal problems,to the gastrointestinal tract or the respiratory tract, and the severity may vary depending on the cause.
A person may spit up blood-tinged sputum due to a wide range of reasons. The causes could range from something as mild as a minor nosebleed or bleeding in the gums to serious medical conditions such as lung infections, acute bronchitis, bronchiectasis, etc. The rate of bleeding and the amount of blood expectorated are important factors that the doctors take into consideration while suggesting the treatment options.
Do you have any other symptoms other than that ,do you have any medical condition ,do you spit blood traces with cough or not ,...
If you have no other symptoms no cough ,no fever ,no breathlessness ,no tiredness ,flu, throat infection respiratory infection ,....gastric problems,...if nothing just these traces of blood with no other symptoms and only at morning while the other day every thing is normal ,then check with a dentist for your gum and teeth and if there is no problem too ,then check with ENT to check the sinusitis and nose throat if there is a polyp or not.
Having other symptoms and problems don't hesitate and check with a doctor for further tests and images if necessary.
