My son is 18 months old. 2 months ago he had a steeple sign (croup) and he went through a successful intubation. Is there any possibility that this virus or operation caused a permanent disease?
he had the steeple sign on xray after the intubation? if he had the croup (which is viral) before being intubated , he could keep some edema after the intubation for few days and keep having some signs and symptoms of laryngeal edema(hoarsness, bark cough...) but he won't have a permanent disease.
