My son 10months old with 40fever, i put him in water with ice 10mins & ran the ice over his body but when i took him out of the water he was irresponsive for 5/10mins & very cold. why did this happen?
This has occurred probably due to hypothermia (low body temperature) though other more serious need to be ruled out. Your baby needs to be monitored closely for a few hours so you need to have him examined in ER. And for future reference, when you need to apply cold compresses for fever, please use water at room temperature, not ice baths.
