During the course of a pregnancy your body is primed to heal quickly. Your immune system is more efficient than usual and therefore wounds will heal within a few weeks after childbirth.
The danger of breech birth is mostly due to the fact that the largest part of a baby is its head. So when the breech baby’s pelvis or hips deliver first, the mom’s pelvis may not be large enough for the head to be delivered also.
BESIDE The mother also has an increased risk of cervical or vaginal tears with abnormal positions.
In some women, the perineum may tear during childbirth as the baby comes out. If you have a tear or an episiotomy, you will probably need stitches to repair it, depending on the nature of the wound.
Tears of the labia or vagina heal in the course of a few days and rarely present problems apart from a stinging sensation, especially when you urinate.
The most common cause of discomfort is from painful scar tissue during the first few days after giving birth. You may also experience swelling and tenderness and it is therefore a good idea to take it easy and rest regularly.
Very few women experience long term problems such as painful scar tissue or problems with incontinence.
>>>You can contact your doctor if you experience these problems. You can also be referred to a specialised physiotherapist or a gynaecologist.
-Tears to the labia and the perineum take about a week to heal.
-An episiotomy may take about 2 to 3 weeks to heal.
-Lacerations involving the anal sphincter can take about a month to heal.
THESE TIPS TO DO :
-You can use ice packs to ease the pain and reduce swelling. You can also use a sanitary towel soaked in water and freeze it. An ice pack can be used several times daily.
-Pain killers may be taken under advice from your doctor or midwife. If the pain in the area around the stitching continues for more than a week, you should contact your doctor to have your stitches examined.
-If you’ve had a tear or an episiotomy, pain during sex is very common in the first few months. but that the pain improves over time.
-Pain can sometimes be linked to vaginal dryness. You can try using a water-based lubricant (available at pharmacies) to help. Don’t use an oil-based lubricant, such as Vaseline or moisturising lotion, as this can irritate the vagina
>>>IF YOU HAD excessive, raised or itchy scar tissue forms around the place where a tear happened or where an episiotomy was performed. A small operation can be carried out to remove the scar tissue. This is done at least six months after childbirth, when the tissues have healed from the stretching, bruising and tearing.
The operation involves neatly cutting out the scar tissue and sewing together the clean-cut edges with small stitches. As with all wounds, there is a small risk of infection, so keep your stitches clean at all times.
SO .it is advised to check with your gynecologist if you feel this scar tissue uncomforatble or you still feel pain at this time after delivery where pain must have finished .
