Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) is defined as excessive menstrual blood loss totaling 80 mL or more (approximately 6 tablespoons) in a single cycle.
You may have HMB if you:
- Wear both a tampon and a pad for double protection
-Soak through a pad or tampon every 2 to 3 hours
- Have ever stained your clothes as a result of a heavy period
-Have to get up in the middle of the night to change your pad or tampon
-Sleep with a towel for extra protection
as for Mirena it reduces heavy periods
Mirena is the first and only birth control that is FDA-approved to treat heavy periods in women who choose intrauterine birth control.
Mirena rapidly reduces heavy periods. In fact, in a clinical trial of Mirena in women with heavy periods, the majority had an
80% reduction in bleeding as early as 3 months, and a 90% reduction at 6 months.
primolut nor (Norethisterone)is a man-made form of progesterone, a naturally occurring female sex hormone. It is referred to as a progestogen and it has a number of uses. Low doses are used to prevent pregnancy, or as hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Medium-strength tablets are used to treat heavy periods (menorrhagia), and high-strength tablets are sometimes used in some female cancers .
depending on what you aim for i mean if you need a contraceptive method and you want to choose then you must choose MIRENA because Primolut Nor is not used as a contraceptive.if your concern is the heavy period then mirena and primolut nor work on this, mirena will be put for one time lasts for 5 years while the Primolut Nor must be taken every day at the same time so there is a probability of missing the dose, mirena costs more than the pill
so it is up to you to depend what fits to you and the purpose of taking one of them
