I have white scratches on my foot nails since few years. I made a fungus growing test at the lab, the result was negative. My derm. suspected that this is nail psoriasis. How can I treat nail psorias?

Dr. Jinan Usta Family Medicine
treatment of nail psoriasis depends how severe the condition is: how many nails and how much of the nail is affected by the disease. patients affected by nail psoriasis are advised to protect their hands and nails by wearing gloves when in contact with water and irritants. This is of particular importance when the nails get more brittle and start peeling or get infected, apply emollient cream in the dry psoriatic skin of the hands and nail folds , avoid injury to the nail by cutting the nails short, avoid removing debris from beneath the nail with various manicure instruments and avoid artficial nails.
As for treatment; there are several medications that can be used as local application. your doctor will decide which is more suitable for your condition
