Uterine leiomyomas (fibroids) are tumors of the muscles of the uterus
When they are large in size, or causing symptoms a myomectomy (removal of the fibroids) is done.
I usually recommend a laparoscopic or robotic myomectomy, but an adequate evaluation has to be done to decide if a surgery is needed and which is the best method for it.
