HEY I NEED TO KNOW IF I CAN TAKE A WHEY PROTEIN WHICH IS ISOLATED KNOWING THAT I HAVE HEPATITIS B
Jun 5, 2015

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
The main concern with taking synthetic proteins is the load they may impose on the kidneys. In general, if you do not exceed an average daily protein intake of 1.25-1.3 grams per kilogram of body weight, including all other sources of protein from the diet, then supplementing your diet with whey protein (considered relatively safe so far) should be OK. Then again, do Not proceed before consulting with the physician who follows up on your case since he/she knows best the condition of your liver function (enzyme levels etc.) and the treatment you're receiving so they can determine any interactions with whey proteins or any possible detrimental effects.
