The most common sexually transmitted infections are hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, HIV, and the two bacteria Neisseria Gonorrhea and chlamydia trachomatis. The tests done for the viruses, which are blood tests, especially the HIV test (using the PCR technology) are more expensive than the tests done for the bacteria, which simply rely on taking a urine culture.
