It could be that you're still tired (your body needs more hours of sleep) or that you're drowsy, bored, someone else around is yawning (yawning is contagious). There are also theories that claim that yawning is triggered by lack of oxygen in the brain, or that it functions to cool down the brain. If yawning is however persistent (for days) and excessive, more serious underlying causes (heart problems) should be ruled out and you should seek medical attention. The dr will look into the frequency of yawning, its relation to sleep, locations, if it interferes with daily activities,.. .
