What are the causes of hiccup for a baby and how to treat it??(2 months baby)
Aug 10, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
It's normal for babies to get a few hiccups every now and then. Usually hiccups result when the stomach gets distended (feeding and swallowing milk or air during the process) or from sudden change in the environmental temperature.
Usually parents are more upset than the infant by the hiccups. If hiccups occur during a feeding, change your baby's position, try to get him to burp, or help him relax. Wait until the hiccups are gone to resume feeding. If they don’t goaway on their own in a few minutes(5-10), try to resume feeding for a few minutes, which usually stops them. If your baby gets hiccups often, try to avoid feeding him when he’s upset and before he’s extremely hungry. This will usually reduce the likelihood of hiccups occurring during the feeding.
