Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. It is the most common thyroid disorder

Thyroid function is controlled by a gland in the brain, known as the pituitary. The pituitary produces thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), which stimulates the thyroid to produce T3 and T4

The symptoms of hypothyroidism vary widely, some people have no symptoms while others have dramatic symptoms or, rarely, life-threatening symptoms.
Symptoms of hypothyroidism affect the whole body and have negative effect on the whole body knowing the thyroxin the thyroid hormone is a burning hormone then lack or decrease in the blood hormone level will lead to the symptoms seen. Symtoms are related to the slow down of the burning process to release energy

>MAJOR SYMPTOMS are weight gain withh low appetite, skin dryness and hair loss ,slow heart beat ,fatigue ,tiredness ,laziness ,irregular menses or periods ,constipation ,it may also be a cause of infertility

A TSH test is a lab test that measures the amount of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in your blood. TSH is produced by the pituitary gland. It tells the thyroid gland to make and release thyroid hormones into the blood.

When hypothyroidism is present, the blood levels of thyroid hormones can be measured directly and are usually decreased. However, in early hypothyroidism, the level of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) may be normal. Therefore, the main tool for the detection of hyperthyroidism is the measurement of the TSH, the thyroid stimulating hormone. As mentioned earlier, TSH is secreted by the pituitary gland. If a decrease of thyroid hormone occurs, the pituitary gland reacts by producing more TSH and the blood TSH level increases in an attempt to encourage thyroid hormone production. This increase in TSH can actually precede the fall in thyroid hormones by months or years (see the section on Subclinical Hypothyroidism below). Thus, the measurement of TSH should be elevated in cases of hypothyroidism.

In most labs normal values can range from 0.4 - 4.0 mIU/L
THUS ,your level is high ,higher-than-normal TSH levels are most often due to an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism)

So the plan for you now before taking any medicine and after we assume a thyroid problem probably hypothyroid you must check the other thyroid tests FT4 FT3 ,they will give more clues about your thyroid function and the treatment plan and doses will be held accordingly.
