Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Widening of the vagina could occur after the first delivery, but it's not as dramatic as with multiple deliveries. Vaginal healing allows the vagina to slowly become less swollen and less bruised after the delivery trauma, but it does not return to its original shape and size, and this is more noticeable with more deliveries.
Tightening the vagina surgically (vaginoplasty) is usually not recommended at this stage. ou can do pelvic floor exercises ( either sitting or standing up) to help in the vaginal recovery of its original size :
Squeeze and draw in your anus at the same time, and close up and draw your vagina upwards.
Do it quickly, tightening and releasing the muscles immediately.
Then do it slowly, holding the contractions for as long as you can (but not more than 10 seconds) before you relax.
Repeat each exercise 10 times, four to six times a day.

It is true that after vaginal delivery the vagina may be wide ,it is not the vagina only it is the uterus the cervis and all the genital areas will be swollen due to delivery and the enlagement since the months of pregnancy
BUT don't panic this is only for a period of time
the enlargement of your uterus that takes it 9 months to deliver a baby and the wideness of a vagina after a baby delivery ,will gradually returns to normal after 6 months of your baby meaning after you deliver by 6 months .your tummy will returns and your uterus will return to place and shrink and so your vagina
but there are certain considerations for that :
Whether or not your vagina returns to its original size depends on a number of factors: genetics, the size of your baby, the number of children you've had, and whether you do Kegel exercises regularly.
After giving birth vaginally, it's normal for the vagina to be larger than it was before, and this effect generally is more pronounced after the birth of a large baby. This is caused by relaxation of the pelvic floor musculature. These muscles will lose their tone with each successive birth, although pelvic floor exercises known as Kegels can help you tighten them up.
it's a good idea to do Kegels. Kegels involve perineal tightening and help to restore the tone of the muscles that surround the opening of the urethra, vagina, and anus.
Since this includes the muscle that you use to stop and start the flow of urine, you can check if you've identified the right muscle by testing your Kegel technique while urinating: If you can stop the flow of urine when tightening, then you know that you're contracting the correct muscle. (But don't do your exercises while urinating ,it can actually weaken the muscles and lead to urinary problems.)
As with any exercise, start doing Kegels a few at a time, a number of times each day. As your muscles start to feel stronger, gradually increase both the number of Kegels you do each day and the length of time you hold each contraction. Do the Kegels in sets of ten and try to work up to three or four sets about three times a day.
even now when pregnant start strenghthening your vaginal muscles not only to tighten your vagina but to lessen your delivery pain and protect from urinary incontinence after delivery too
