Thanks a lot Dr Rania,U knw ths incident worried me cz recent studies shows a link betw panoramic xrays (jaw)&meningioma brain tumors. no aprons offered here & machine is old not digital said 2b risky
While we believe that dental radiography has the potential to cause harm(like the example i give before - adrop of water which gives a risk ), including meningiomas, and we concur that study suggests an association between dental radiographic exposures and meningiomas, it is far more likely because of the low doses involved in dental imaging that the reported association is the result of meningiomas studied
did you know that Head CT exposures contribute 4.3% of the collective effective dose from all diagnostic sources, 15 times more than from dental radiography!so it is a matter of frequently continuous exposure to raise a risk .
however ,of course all the time and in all occasions ,cautions must be held in any use of radiation emitation products whatever they are,every radiation will count for 1 till we reach hundred where a complication occured ,we always have to make our effort of being so far from hundred
