alcohol and smoking must be avoided .
To have lower values for your LDL level it is done through diet ,exercise ,losing weight ,increase your HDL(protect against the high LDL and heart desease )
lowering your LDL through diet is acheived through
-Oatmeal contains soluble fiber, which reduces your low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the "bad," cholesterol. Soluble fiber is also found in such foods as kidney beans, apples, pears, barley and prunes.
Soluble fiber can reduce the absorption of cholesterol into your bloodstream.
-Eat fatty fish can be heart healthy because of its high levels of omega-3 fatty acids and thus increasing HDL (the good cholestrol) at least two servings of fish a week. You can take an omega-3 or fish oil supplement to get some of the benefits if you don't eat fish.
-eat lean meat and chicken breast meaning all meat and chicken without fats
-eat fruits an vegetables
-Walnuts, almonds and other nuts can reduce blood cholesterol.
-olive oil is good it raises HDL the good cholesterol
-Cut back on the cholesterol and total fat, especially saturated and trans fats that you eat. Saturated fats, like those in meat, full-fat dairy products and some oils, raise your total cholesterol. Trans fats, which are sometimes found in margarines and store-bought cookies, crackers and cakes, are particularly bad for your cholesterol levels. Trans fats raise low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the "bad," cholesterol, and lower high-density lipoprotein (HDL), the "good," cholestero
-limit the amount of sweets you consume ,sweets when taken in big quantities will be transfered to fats .
-Apples, grapes, strawberries, citrus fruits ,eggplants ,oats ,beans, are rich in fiber and will lower LDL levels
Remember that protection is better than treatment ,it is good for all of us to stay on a diet that protect us from high cholesterol and heart problems .
