Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
It is not possible to tell if the vomiting was caused by food intolerance (sometimes certain combinations of food items cause irritation of the stomach followed by vomiting) or a viral infection, especially that there is no accompanying diarrhea nor fever. If she continues to vomit and so as to avoid her becoming dehydrated, you need to have her seen by her pediatrician. Otherwise simply giver her oral rehydration solution (around 15 mL every 10-15 min) and monitor her temperature, stools (for diarrhea), and amount of urine. Worrisome signs include decreased amount of urine, sleepiness, decreased level of physical activity or lethargy, poor feeding.
