Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Can he stand supported? If yes, and other growth parameters, including weight, length, head circumference, social development (playing peek-a-boo for example), speech (saying repetitive sounds like dada and mama), and fine motor skills (the pincher grasp, or picking up objects in between his thumb and index fingers), then you should allow some time before he starts crawling and cruising. And remember, babies at this age are afraid of falling, and some babies get scared more than others, so this may be the reason. If however he does not stand even with support, you should consult his pediatrician on the matter.
