My 13 mos old bumped his eye lid 2 days ago. It's all swollen & purple in color. Ophtalmologist said the cornea is ok. Anything I can do to heal fast?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
As long as your son's eye has been examined by an ophthalmologist and he has reassured you, all you need to do is watchful waiting. It should take a couple of days for the swelling to start shrinking. The purple color imparted by the blunt trauma, just like any other area in the body, will start off as bluish or purplish, turn greenish, then yellowish before completely resolving. This is the normal change in color which results from the break down of red blood cell pigments in the area of the trauma.
