My one-year old baby woke up at night coughing a lot then vomited everything he ate in the day. Can I give him milk in the morning?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
There is no contraindication to continuing giving milk to your baby - vomiting once does not necessitate that you withhold his milk intake. In any case, you need to monitor his temperature and look out for diarrhea and/or further vomiting. If he develops fever and gets worsening vomiting and/or diarrhea, please contact his pediatrician.
Usually in the cases of severe diarrhea in children, we do not avoid milk altogether. Rather, we shift to lactose free milk formulas since when there is diarrhea, the enzyme that is responsible for breaking down the lactose molecule (the natural milk sugar) becomes less functional. So in order to avoid a transient state of lactose intolerance, we resort to lactose free milk till the diarrhea improves.
