most viral infections can cause low wbc and rbc, usually you should repeat the tests after her symptoms resolves. viral infection doesnt require treatment except for symptom relief. (unless it is the influenza and its treatment should be given early on). if your mom has still symptoms after 2 weeks she needs to be seen by a physician to make sure there is no bacterial infection on top of the viral infection she has.
