I've been on a low carb diet around 6 months & decided to run some blood tests, my hdl turned out to be 78 while ldl is 178!! I exercise regularly and my source of fat is olive oil. Y such bad result?

your LDL is considered high but your HDL is very good ,your HDL will lower your risk of heart disease and vessel problems despite you high LDL
you take olive oil ,it is obviuos in your test results ,olive oil raise HDL the good cholesterol which is a good choice to lower the risks of heart disease
you may have a family history of high cholesterol which is responsible of your high LDL,your genetic makeup — reflected in a family history of high cholesterol — might make you more prone to high cholesterol, even if you eat right and exercise.
That's why it's so important to have a baseline cholesterol test at age 20 and have follow-up tests at least once every five years. Finding the problem early allows you to take action before it's too late.
