Is Varicocele a genetic illness? Should it be treated or it can't be left as it is? Does it affect on the man's fertility?
Jan 14, 2013

Dr. Michael Khoury Surgery
Varicocele is an anatomic abnormality of the venous plexus draining the testis. It is not known to have correlation with genetics. It has different grades determining its severity. It can affect testicular function by altering its thermoregulation thus the fertility. For this reason referal to a specialist with spermogram is indicated in varicocele. If it is affecting the fertility a surgical procedure should be done.
