It is perfectly safe. It is not poisonous at all mixing the two.There are many salmon dishes served with cream sauce which is made from milk. Haven't you ever eaten a tuna fish sandwich with a big glass of ayran?
Anyway, The presumption was this got started from someone who ate bad fish and drank milk with it. So they got very sick and blamed it on the combination, not realizing the actual answer was the fish was bad and it had nothing to do with milk.
