1. 1st you need to make sure your child's shoes are comfortable enough. 2. Ingrown toenails can occur and will probably need treatment.
3. Non-specific growing pains in the leg are a common complaint of children, often causing a deep ache like leg pain during the night.
4. There are some specific causes of growing pains, especially in the heel, called Sever's disease or calcaneal apophysitis, a disturbance to the growing area at the back of the heel bone (calcaneus) where the strong achilles tendon attaches to it.
5. Clubfoot is a relatively rare deformity at birth that may still cause problems in later life after correction.
6. Flexible flatfoot or a pronated foot in children may cause an ache, especially if the child is overweight.
7. In-toeing means that the foot or feet points inwards instead of pointing straight ahead when walking.
8. Some infants are born with feet that can bend inwards from the middle of the feet to the toes - called metatarsus adductus.
9. Toe walking which can be due to a neuromuscular disorder.
So as you can see the possible causes are many. You should have your child examined by a pediatrician, then if necessary consult an orthopedic surgeon (bone surgeon).
