I've had nasal congestion for the last 2-3 months. It started with the flu, then after healing, the congestion became a continuous state. Every few days, I would become congested for a few days.

As Dr.SAAD it could be sunisitis beginning in an acute phase after a flu and since it is for now been for less than 12 weeks still subacute,a chronic sinusitis lasts longer than 12 weeks.
symptoms of chronic sinusitis :
A runny nose. The discharge may be greeny/yellow.
A reduced sense of smell.
Pain over the affected sinus.
Nasal congestion or "stuffy nose" occurs when nasal and adjacent tissues and blood vessels become swollen with excess fluid, causing a "stuffy" feeling. Nasal congestion may or may not be accompanied by a nasal discharge or "runny nose."
Nasal congestion can be caused by anything that irritates or inflames the nasal tissues. Infections
other causes for nasal congestion that can be alone a cuase for stuffed nose or accompanied by other problem
such as colds, influenza or sinusitis ,allergies and various irritants, such as tobacco smoke, may all cause a runny nose. Some people have a chronically runny nose for no apparent reason , a condition called nonallergic rhinitis or vasomotor rhinitis (VMR).
Less commonly, nasal congestion can be caused by polyps or a tumor.
