Underarm dark spots can be caused by a number of factors including
1- excessive shaving , not using the right kind of shaving cream or razor to remove the hair can cause dark patches on the underarms.
,2- dark patches on the underarms can happen due to the growth of the dead skin cells that are hidden on the microscopic parts of the skin. (this is your case with dry armpits since dryness leads to dead cells)
3- Using antiperspirants and deodorants can cause dark patches on the underarms. Moreover, there are cases of skin discoloration because of the presence of certain ingredients in these products. Therefore, stopping the use of these products can help one get rid of the underarms’ dark patches
4-Another reason causing armpits’ dark patches is hyper-pigmentation which is a medical condition where the skin produces excess melanin than it should.
5-Acanthosis Nigricans:
This is a medical condition affecting various parts of the body such as the neck, underarms, etc. Moreover, people suffering from this disease can have brown and black markings on their body.
here are some tips
1-Make an appointment with your dermatologist. You want to rule out any skin conditions such as acanthosis nigricans and hyperpigmentation.
2-Wax your underarm hair. Waxing your underarm hair will remove the hair from the root, eliminating the dark spots under your arm. Shaving only removes the exposed surface hair, which could leave small new hairs on the surface of the skin.
3-Using antiperspirant instead of deodorant can help one get rid of the dark patches in the underarms. Using a deodorant having alcohol can cause dryness of the skin, as well as contains chemicals that can cause irritation
4-Exfoliate your underarm
5-Avoid harsh chemicals or fragrances.
6-Pour some lemon juice unto a napkin and wipe your underarm.do not use this method until a few days after you have waxed your under arms. Lemon juice is a natural skin lightener and can assist in combating dark underarm.
