How often should we get our ears cleaned by a specialist?
Mar 3, 2013

Dr. Jihad Achkar Otolaryngology (ENT)
There are no indications that specify a particular time table to get an ear cleaning, it's totally variable. Some people never need to have their ears cleaned as they don't get build up of ear wax. Others get wax impaction rather quickly causing blocked ear sensation and sometimes decreased hearing. Having the ears checked by your family Dr on your routine physical, or whenever you see him/her, will determine whether you need to have them cleaned or not. Hope this helps.

I totally agree with Dr Achkar. Just a simple information for the patients:whenever you feel water not coming out of your ears after bathing, that might be a sign of waxy ear, and hence ask your doctor to check them.
