First we need to do a blood test called complete blood count in addition to iron, ferritin and total iron binding capacity. if you low ferritin and iron then yes you will benefit from iron therapy and your hemoglobin will rise but in case you have normal iron and ferritin you wont benefit from iron therapy and thus we need to look for other causes of your anemia
