Some specialists in the field recommend drinking warm water with lemon in the morning 15 minutes prior to eating breakfast, as it enhances liver enzyme function and curbs hunger (rich id fiber and pectin). Avoiding boxed/packed foods is also key, as these are usually highly processed foods and contain a great deal of preservatives. Organizing your meals (3 main meals, or 6 smaller meals) and avoiding snacks also helps regulate your digestion process. Chamomile before bedtime is a good way to facilitate the digestion process of the last meal. Some experts also recommend probiotic supplements and activated charcoal. And of course, avoiding smoking and alcohol.
