Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
I would not be worried about your daughter's height. Rather, I would be concerned about her weight. Your daughter is significantly underweight, with a body mass index (BMI) of 15.6. An organic cause for this poor weight must be ruled out (poor nutrient absorption by the gut) and her diet needs to be thoroughly evaluated in terms of caloric intake and balance of nutrients. If these turn out to be OK, then a psychological problem like anorexia or bulimia must be entertained, especially if you notice that she barely eats and/or spends too much time in the bathroom (she could be inducing forceful vomiting), and that her nmenstrual cycle is irregular or almost absent.
Regarding the gain of height, it depends on the timing of menarche (at what age she 1st got her period, because height gain slows down after that and the addition of no more than a few cm is expected), in addition to adequate nutrition and physical fitness.
