Hi I did vitamin d test the level is 23 which is low but not very low what is the needed dose ? Thank u

A vitamin D level of 23 ng/mL indicates mild to moderate deficiency or insufficiency, but not deficiency sever deficiency (which is when the level is below 10 ng/mL). You will need to receive oral vitamin D supplements for three months, after which you need to repeat the level. The target is to get your vitamin D level to somewhere between 30 and 40 ng/mL.
As Vitamin D is an over-the-counter and not a prescription medication, I will provide you with the dosage: 1,000 IU daily of vitamin D; this dose is expected to produce an increase of 10 ng/dL.
