Can a person lose calories in very hot weather through sweating by just remaining seated and not doing nothing (i.e watching tv)?
Aug 31, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
No. Perspiration (sweating) is mostly made up of water, and it is not equivalent to burning calories (most people believe that sweat is the direct product of layers of fat melting away). Cutting down on caloric intake, choosing your calories wisely, and exercising your muscles are required to burn calories.
