the best way is to sit and talk with your parents about the things that bother you. dont forget that they are of different generation and mentality. you need to approach them calmly and start by talking about stuff you have in common or you both agree on before the disagreements. parents (specially fathers) have difficulty in showing affections to children and specially taking them seriously. whatever you are trying to convince them with, they will find it difficult to be convinced if you don't know how to approach them. start by compromising or meet them half way. i hope this help.
