Nasal congestion (congested nose occurs when the tissues lining it become swollen. The swelling is due to inflamed blood vessels.)
usually using VIBROCIL or any decongestant for more than 3 days may cause a condition called rebound congestion.
then wat you have is a rebound congestion ,you must stop the medication it was better to treat the cause rather than using frequent nasal deecongestants to treat a symptom(nasal congestion)
your vibrocil might help now ,oppositely it will worse the condition, the first 3 days of usage it can reduce nasal congestion but after several days of continuous use, the sprays can cause the nasal linings to swell up again, even when the cold or attack of sinusitis or allergy that originally caused the problem has passed.
that what you must do :
>Discontinue the use of vibrocil or any nasal decongestant in order not to worsen the condition.
>Use saline nasal sprays that do not contain a decongestant to keep your nasal passages moist, and help relieve some of the discomfort of rebound congestion.
>Use over-the-counter pain relievers to help relieve the pressure and pain that rebound congestion can cause such as ibuprofen
>contact ENT doctor first to prescribe a medication to heal the rebound phenomena usually cortisone sprays or other will decrease inflammation and increase healing ,second to diagnose the cause of your nasal congestion and treat it properly .
Common causes of nasal congestion :
-a sinus infection -sinusitis
-or allergy such as hay fever ,rhinitis ,...
-or nasal polyp
-cold and flu make acute congestion
So try the steps ,stop vibrocil ,you need sinus x ray beside tests to know your nasal congestion cause.
