Hello doctors, I have noticed that when I sleep with the AC on at night, I wake up the next morning sneezing and irritated. If I sleep without it I'm fine. Any suggestions?

Youmost likely have a form of allergic rhinitis where allergyis triggered by changes in ambient humidity or temperature. Not sleeping in an air-conditioned room, although it may help alleviate the symptoms, as you may be sensitive to the cold temperature or even the dust or moulds from the air-con vents, is not an option in the current weather conditions. So what you should do is have a professional clean the AC filters regularly and thoroughly. Some specialized filters exist. I'm not sure whether we have them in Lebanon.
As dust and dust mites are often common culprits, it also helps to minimise its exposure. This can be done by the following measures:
Vacuuming the room and wet-wiping surfaces regularly
Avoid carpetsvand heavy drapes
Change feather pillows to the foam variety
Washing bedclothes twice weekly
Use of dust-proof cover over mattress and pillows
Medications like nasal steroids and montelukast help fight the inflammation that accompanies the allergic reactions.
