Hello doctor, I'm 18 and I suffer from mood swings a lot . Is it something normal?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Adolescence is the time of rapid change in your body and fluctuations in your hormones, so yes it's normal that you get mood swings, as long as they're not severe (meaning they don't affect your sleep, eating habits, you don't feel lonely and worthless, you don't think too much about death or get suicidal thoughts), they don't last for too long (more than a couple of weeks), and they don't occur in many situations (school, home, with interactions with friends). If you are going through any of the things I've mentioned, I recommend that you see a psychologist to rule out depression which does occur in adolescents with risk factors (other family members with depression, difficulties at home...).
