Healing advise after deep hospital stitched finger cut. Keep the room temperature warm or cold? Change the hospital bandage myself or wait for hospit?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
It's preferable that you keep away from excessive heat and humidity to allow for better healing of the wound. The average period of time allowed before stitches are removed is usually between 7-10 days, so you will certainly have to change the bandage meanwhile. You will need to remove the old bandage, apply iodine solution onto the wound and let it dry completely. You may also apply a thin layer of topical antibiotic cream if the doctor who saw you advised to do so. Then you will need sterile (not regular) gauze and adhesive tape. Make sure that the tape is not applied too tense so as not to affect normal blood flow to the affected finger.
Avoid direct contact with water as much as possible- so when you're bathing, cover your finger with adhesive wrap.
