in french Géodes or subchondral cysts , are cavities seen under the wearing cartilage whenever osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease settles in , they are variable in size and location , and are secondary to the inflammation process, the major concern is they need to be considered prior to any joint replacement surgery ( prothèse) ... treatment mostly conservative and treating the underlying process... unless their size and location cause issues for the involved joint !
