No it is not normal to sleep for 10 minutes and wake up you need to tell us more about the reason for waking up ( is it because of bad dreams, to go to the toilet, because you are short of breath...).
Sleep fragmentation is very harmful to the health and need to be looked into.

i agree with Dr Haddad ,if we can take the simplest cause for your situation interrupted sleep or insomnia can be because of consuming too much caffeine through the day especially after 6 pm or it can be because of a heavy night meal especially after 6 pm ,or it can be because of a stress period you are in ex,exams, stress in work, problems ,family stress ....too much stress, drinking too much fluids after 6 pm ,some medications can lead to this also check the medications ,all these simple causes can affect your sleep and make it interrupted ,try to:
- stop caffeine products such as coffee, tea, cola, too much chocolate ,nescafe after 6 pm
-try to lower your fluid intake after 6 pm
-try to relax and never think about anything before sleep maybe by taking a warm bath
-try to check the medications you are taking and if any can affect your sleep(an example of this some cold and flu medications has a side effect on some people to have interrupted sleep
-try to sleep in a dark calm room with no noise beside that may interrupt your sleep
remove these causes and see if the problem goes or still if still you have the problem then other causes will be ruled out and then certain tests must be done regarding sleep apnea or an organic disease affecting your sleep or certain imbalance in your blood and then after making the investigations the cause will be known and thus the problem will be solved .
