It could be a problem with the collagen (involved in the structure of the skin and cartilage as well as other structures...), or a problem in the muscles lacking a specific protein. "polyneuropathy" is different it is injury of the peripheral nerves. if you will on wheel chair or not depends on the etiology of your disease as some type of "hyperlax" do not have progression of the disease while others have deterioration..All depends on what disease exactly do you have.
