Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Quitting smoking is a very important step towards a more healthy being ,it is important for you and your beloved ones since they are also the one who are caring about you and the ones standing beside you smelling those dangerous harmful by 40 % from your own smoke .
you need to know ,the one who is beside you when smoking if he is your child your relative your mom or dad ,your beloved ones is receiving 40% of the harmful substances you are inhaling ,if a smoker don't care for himself won't you care for your beloved ones ,and if you don't care for yourself don't you care for their love and care wanting you to be in a healthy status ,is it the cigarette that much important than your health if not their then your beloved health if not then your beloved ones care and love and sadness if your health is at risk !! of course not .

i will not state the risks and medical side effects of smoking ,i think all of us including you had knew them but we often neglect them or feel we are vaccinated against illness or lung cancer or CPOD unless the disease comes to us suddenly ,we say OOOOOH I WISH I HADN'T TAKEN THIS POISON TO ENTER AND RUIN MY LIFE AND OTHER LIVES !!

IF you had the will that is very important this is a positive step toward success ,if you are asking for methods to stop then this is also another step towards your success .

Please continue and go ahead there ,you can do it ,save yourself and others .

The two factors in succeeding is by
first: determination and support from the surrounding people and/or medications &
second : the nicotine dependence which depends on the duration and number of packs per day and that might require finding another nicotine source such as patch, gum or lozenges to help with the withdrawal symptoms (ie stopping the nicotine effect).

Stopping directly is better and more effective than the gradual reduction. but again it all depend on you and you can do it if you will .

These are some tips to stop smoking :

>First and foremost, set a quit date and quit COMPLETELY on that day. To prepare for that day:

-Identify the times you are most likely to smoke. For example, do you tend to smoke when feeling stressed? When you are out at night with friends? While you are drinking coffee? When you are bored? While you are driving? their feelings
first there is the psychological dependence which need

-Keep a diary to help you determine such risky times. Record each time you have a cigarette, including time of day and what you are doing.

-Make a plan about what you will do instead of smoking at those times that you are most likely to smoke. For example, drink tea instead of coffee -- tea may not trigger the desire for a cigarette. Or, take a walk when feeling stressed

- Remove ashtrays and cigarettes from the car. Place pretzels or hard candies there instead. Pretend-smoke with a straw.

-Let all of your friends, family, and co-workers know of your plan to stop smoking and your quit date. Just being aware that they know can be a helpful reminder and motivator.

-Prior to your quit date, start reducing your cigarette use, including decreasing the number and strength of the cigarettes. However, DON'T do this simply to make your diary "look good!" Get rid of all of your cigarettes just prior to the quit date and clean out anything that smells like smoke, such as clothes and furniture.

Other tips that can help you quit and stay quit include:

-Enroll in a smoking cessation program (hospitals, health departments, community centers, and work sites frequently offer programs).

-there are certain prescription medications (such as bupropion -- Zyban or Wellbutrin) to help quit smoking

-Find out about nicotine patches, gum, and sprays.

-Try hypnosis -- it works for some people.

-Avoid smoke-filled settings and situations in which you are more likely to smoke.

-Exercise to relieve urges to smoke and to relieve toxins of your body
-eat well balanced diet eat vegetables fruits and lean meat and chicken and fish ,nuts ,..

Remember you will be a healthy person who cares for himself and others too ,build your own health by your own ,your life deserves to live in healthy not to pass by ill.
