Does tomato increase the uric acid?
Aug 16, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
This is a common myth: that tomatoes are rich in uric acid and thus must be avoided especially in people with kidney stones or gout. Rule of thum: animal proteins are a ssource of purine which gets metabolized into uric acid. Alcohol can also be a source of uric acid. Same goes for ملوخية. Another thing to avoid are products with high fructose corn syrup because it increases uric acid level in the blood.
