Does a bottled water brand affect baby's milk consumption when mixed with infant formula powder? Should we be selective concerning what brand to choose from the market?
Mar 18, 2015

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
The only limiting factor in selecting one bottled water brand over another is the content of fluoride. Then again, all Lebanese bottled water brands have adequate quantity of fluoride to support healthy teeth. But there is no known connection between a particular bottled water brand and the baby's appetite for or consumption of milk.
It happens sometimes though that once an infant starts getting used to eating solid food from a dish and with a spoon, he/she gets full easily and the milk consumption drops sharply. Lowering the amount of solid food offered, and/or integrating milk and dairy products into the solid food meal, are ways to overcome the decreased consumption of milk.
