Dear Dr Zakia, I would like to thank you for your concise answer. I just want to mention that I am a medical student at USJ (4th year) and I have been drinking coffee for 2 years (2 cups per day).

I suggest you start by cutting down on coffee, or at least couple it with drinking plenty of water to flush the caffeine out of your bloodstream faster. It is understandable that the stresses of medical school are appreciable and may by themselves produce palpitations and tachycardia, but organic causes (anemia, caffeine etc.) need to be ruled out first. And Good luck!
