Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics

As long as your baby is active, playful, eating well, and passing adequate amounts of clear urine and stooling regularly, and in the absence of fever, you need not be alarmed. For the time being, monitor his temperature (rectally using a digital thermometer) and use intranasal saline solution followed by bulb suction 4 times per day. In case he develops fever and/or lethargy, increased sleepiness or excessive irritability, or he starts feeding poorly with a noticeable decrease in urine output, or difficulty breathing, you need to have him seen by his pediatrician without delay.
