The main indicators of your baby's health are adequate gain in weight, length and head circumference on the growth curves. As long as your baby is following her/his conventional curve of growth and there are no sharp drops or discrepancies, then you do not need to worry. Check your baby's developmental chart in the health record for this kind of information.

As a rule of thumb, the following are rough estimations of the types of foods and the quantities that a child between the ages of 9 and 12 months is expected to consume (remember these are not exact values):
1- Milk: 3 to 5 feedings per day or 900-1000 mL per day
2- Iron-fortified cereal (dry): 5 to 8 tablespoons, any variety mixed with formula
3- Fruits: 2 to 4 tablespoons, strained or soft mashed/2 times per day
4- Vegetables: 2 to 4 tablespoons., mashed, soft, bite-sized pieces/2 times per day
5- Meat/chicken: 2 to 3 tablespoons of tender, chopped/2 times per day
6- Juice (freshly squeezed, no added sugar): 150-160 mL
7- Snacks: finger foods, cookies, toast, crackers, plain yogurt.
