Always having the WBC at the max count.. what does that signifie?
Aug 6, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Elevated white blood cell count usually results from benign conditions (infection, inflammation) and less commonly from neoplastic disorders. Physical stress ( from over exertion or a more serious condition like convulsions ) and emotional stress can elevate white blood cell count (leukocytosi). Medications commonly associated with an elevated white blood cell count include corticosteroids, lithium and beta agonists. Increased eosinophil or basophil counts which are special types of white blood cells, resulting from a variety of infections, allergic reactions and other causes, can lead to leukocytosis in some people. So if you are known to have chronic allergies (respiratory or skin) or have a chronic condition like irritable bowel syndrome, these may explain the chronic elevation in the WBC count.
Less likely, but still plausible is the possibility of a blood neoplasm - usually the affected individual would have fever, weight loss, bone pain along with a WBC count that is predominantly very high but can be normal or low.

Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Many people run a chronically mildly elevated WBC that remains normal for them. But the operative words here are that it is mild (normal is 4-10, 000) such as 11 or 12, 000; that it is repetitive and does not keep rising; and that there is a full evaluation of the type of WBC present
if your WBC are always very high and are variable every time then there must be a cause especially if there are other symptoms ,look for other symptoms other blood test results concerning other readings this will give a clue if there is any problem ,if all are normal just you have a wbc that is high according to lab references then for you that would be the normal range
SO check with a hematology consultation to look for other findings or symptoms before attemting it is normal
