Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Decapeptyl SR injection contains the active ingredient triptorelin, which is a type of medicine known as a gonadorelin (LHRH) analogue. It acts on the pituitary gland in the brain.
However what you had described exceeds anormal side effect of the this medical injection ,normally you can feel sort of redness inflammation only in the injection site, you may feel some muscle pains or swelling in other parts of body ,muscle and joint pains along other side effects ,if these are the symptoms then they must had gone
but having a sharp pain that radiates to the foot with tingling feeling ,this is a symptom of sciatic nerve injury .
if the pain only happen after the injection then it is a complication of the injection beingput more to the middle side of the buttock rather to the lateral upper quadrant side unfortunately .if the pain was before the injection it is still the sciatic nerve but it may be compressed for other reason than the injection.

The site of injection is the crucial factor in determining the degree of nerve fiber injury. The degree of injury varies significantly, depending upon the specific agent injected.
Accidental intraneural injection induced nerve injury is an iatrogenic tragedy and intramuscular injection (IM) is the most common injury mechanism affecting the sciatic nerve.
The most frequent presentation of sciatic nerve injury includes radicular pain and paresthesia with almost immediate onset of variable motor and sensory deficit.
PLEASE re check with your doctor for the necessary diagnose and further treatment of the nerve injury if happened you may need corticosteroid shots depending on the case .
