Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
this seems an allergic contact cheilitis,it is allergic contact dermatitis affecting the lip(s). It is due to a type IV hypersensitivity reaction following contact with an allergen and usually presents as an eczema-like inflammation of the outer lip or vermilion margin.
Allergic cheilitis is probably the most widespread type of the disease. In case of allergic cheilitis lips become more sensitive to some substances.Allergens can be contained in dental prostheses, toothpastes or certain food (in your case seems you have seafood allergic skin action) or lipsticks(that is why when kissing a woman you suffer the case as an allergic action toward her lipstick) The symptoms of allergic cheilitis are lip edema, burning pain, and vesicular rash. The symptoms are quite unpleasant and painful.
To treat this type of cheilitis one should first of all prevent any contact with the allergen ,any allergen you know it causes your chelitis then prevent contact with take antihistamines and apply corticosteroid ointments to the sore place.
Major sources of allergens causing contact cheilitis include:
Lipsticks and other lip cosmetics including sunscreens
Toothpaste and other dental care products (mouthwash, denture cleaner, dental floss, toothpicks)
Metals – dental restorations, orthodontic devices, musical instruments, metal casings of lip cosmetics, habitual sucking of metal objects
Food
Medications
Nail varnishes
Rubber/latex gloves – rubber dams used during dental treatment, transfer of allergens from gloves worn on hands
zovirax is used for herpes simplex virus ,this is not your case ,hence don't use it for that.
